Ware Malcomb announced that Jason Golub, member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), has been named regional director in the firm’s Oak Brook, Illinoios, office. In this role, Golub is responsible for the overall leadership and continued growth of the office.
“Golub has worked on numerous high-profile projects and national rollout programs with some of the world’s leading companies,” said Cameron Trefry, regional vice president of Ware Malcomb. “We are pleased to welcome him to our Oak Brook leadership team and look forward to his contributions toward our continued growth and diversification.”
A licensed architect, Golub brings more than 20 years of professional experience and leadership in the architectural industry to Ware Malcomb. He previously held leadership roles at multiple design firms, and throughout his career has worked with Fortune 500 clients on projects across the country. His diverse project experience includes office, retail, mixed-use, hospitality, multifamily, and historic preservation.
Golub graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. He is an active member of the AIA Chicago, serves on its Board of Directors, and is a past co-chair for the organization’s practice management committee. He has emphasized dedication to his profession through volunteer work, including involvement in AIA’s Architects in Schools program, as well as teaching in local junior high and high schools.
Ware Malcomb additionally announced Sergio Valentini, AIA member, has been promoted to principal in the Los Angeles, California, office. In this role, Valentini is responsible for the continued leadership and growth of the office.
“Valentini has led the continued growth and diversification of our Los Angeles office,” said Radwan Madani, vice president of operations for Ware Malcomb. “He’s been instrumental in helping our team win cutting-edge, high-profile design projects in a highly competitive market, offering diverse services and product type expertise.”
Valentini joined Ware Malcomb in 2019 as studio manager in architecture. In 2020, he was promoted to director in architecture and in 2021, he landed his most recent role of regional director prior to this promotion. A licensed architect, his 20 years of experience leading large international projects from early concept stage through construction administration have helped the Los Angeles office develop a diverse portfolio across industry sectors. Valentini’s portfolio spans a variety of project types including office and mixed-use towers, airports, museums, arenas, university facilities, and stadiums in Europe, North and South America, the Middle East, and Asia. He also led Lowe’s recent Violet project, a nine-story creative office in the LA Arts District and the NAIOP SoCal 2023 Mixed-Use/Retail Project of the Year.
Valentini received bachelor and master of architecture degrees from Politecnico di Bari university in Bari, Italy. He is active in the industry with various professional associations, and is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects USA Board. He has lectured at several universities and conferences and served on the jury of design competitions. His archaeological research work has been presented at major international congresses.
